The hypnotist, El Layla Johnson, sitting on the couch smiling at camera located in Central Brooklyn
Hello, my name is El Layla Johnson (they/them).

I am a hypnotist, psychotherapist, group facilitator and Social Worker (LMSW) based in Central Brooklyn.

I was introduced to hypnosis at a time when I'd become so tightly wound, my body ceased to be a safe place. Intellectually, I knew I wanted and deserved to be free; but emotionally I was trapped in self-doubt and self-consciousness. In a remarkably short period of time, hypnosis guided me back to a felt sense of safety, to the resources I already possessed, and brought me newly in touch with a purposeful vision of my future.

Hypnosis allows for a unique depth of intimacy with, trust in, and influence over oneself. Grounded in behavioral psychology and neuroscience, my approach utilizes a combination of conversational techniques and guided trance to soothe your nervous system and connect you to your fullest potential. You already possess the wisdom and resources you need! I can help you reclaim them.

The intention of my practice is to reconnect Queer folks, Black and brown folk, organizers, and artists to yourselves and your vision for your desired future through profound individual and communal experiences.
